DNS setup CNAME in cPanel

Learn how to setup your mobile website DNS with a CNAME in cPanelIn order to correctly route HTTP traffic to your mobile website the DNS settings for the mobile domain must be configured correctly. To do this, you need to add a DNS records in your cPanel control menu for the mobile domain according to the example below.



Add the following to your DNS:

m.example.com CNAME lb.site.mobi

m.example.com redirects to your mobile website
www.example.com redirects to your normal PC website

Set up your mobile domain

Log in to your cPanel and add a CNAME record:

  1. Log in to cPanel
  2. Click on “Simple DNS Zone Editor”dns-zone-editor-cpanel-gomobi
  3. If you have multiple add-on domains – choose the appropriate one from the drop down menu
  4. Under “Add a CNAME record”
    1. in the NAME field type “m.”
    2. in the CNAME field type “lb.site.mobi”


Replace example.com with your own domain name!

Please note: Reference to cPanel and its functions are specific to customers using the cPanel control panel. If your site is does not use cPanel, the naming and location of DNS settings may be different but the process should be similar.
